Raw Fleece - Shropshire

Raw, skirted fleece from our purebred Shropshire sheep. 

Shropshire sheep are a Down breed and their wool is white with a chalky lustre. Their fleeces are characterised by dense, blocky staples of roughly 6-10 cm (2.5-4") length with a medium-grade fibre diameter (24.5-33 microns/ spinning count 46s-58s). Shropshire wool is springy, strong, and hard-wearing. It is not prone to felting and is exceptionally warm if spun with a woollen technique. Shropshire wool is excellent for items that will get regular wear including hats, mitts, socks, and casual sweaters.
